MacKay Boats have a long and successful reputation for building winning boats including racing powerboats, surfboats and yachts. During the 60's, 70's and 80's we built the Flying Dutchman class and our boats were used by New Zealand crews at the Olympics from 1964 through to 1992 including winning the 1964 Gold medal in Tokyo. During the 70's the Mackay name was synonymous with Offshore Powerboat racing winning the national championships 5 years in a row. more In the 90s we began building 470s and 49ers. Our boats have won the 470 World Championships 11 times and the 49er World Championship 5 times and in Olympic competition Mackay boats have won 17 medals.

Our two bay covered workshop is equiped with the latest computer based analyse equipment to economically test and protect your outboard. Our qualified technicians pride themselves in being able to repair things mechanical rather than just install new parts. We also have an outboard Dynometer to enable us to test your outboard under loads similar to those you might encounter while on the water. This saves you the cost of having your boat water tested.
