My experience with Independent Fisheries Limited was for a period of years during the early 1990's as the Central Government Health and Safety Inspector for the Woolston operation, along with many other employing and manufacturing enterprises in the Region. It was a part of my role to oversee the health and safety standards being maintained throughout the entire physical operation. The company had established a fulltime on-site medical clinic staffed by a fulltime General Practitioner and a fulltime Registered Nurse. This was unique in my experience. It spoke volumes as to the good intention and ethics of this wonderful company which strove always to do it's best by it's stakeholders and employees in my opinion.
