We are a family owned and operated business based in Ashburton, in the heart of the Canterbury Plains of New Zealand. This region has a unique soil and climate combination to produce some of the world’s best oil seeds. Established in 1987, Bio Oils was originally founded by a group of seven farmers who had been growing Linseed seed (Linum usitatissimum) for several years, and who were interested in the health benefits of Flax Seed Oil and its high Omega 3 content. One of these founding members was Gavin Prebble. The Prebble family have had an involvement in the Company ever since and today Gavin's son, Daryl Prebble owns and operates Bio Oils.
