Hi my name is Jo Davies and I work as a Nutritionist in Taupo. I studied Nutrition and gained my 2 degrees at Otago University, and have over 20 years experience working as a Nutritionist. I love living in Taupo, and working with the large number of Athletes we have here. Taupo is certainly an events place! My clinic is a gorgeous french style cottage which offers a nurturing, calm, peaceful environment for clients to address health and wellbeing issues. Often our food habits are just a symptom of many lifestyle changes that are required. I also love working with women, who due to demands of work and family, are completely depleted - nutritionally, emotionally, physically, and hormonally. Working with people and watching them gain energy, vitality, and a sense of wellbeing is very rewarding and everyone is entitled to excellent health. Our health is often something we take for granted until it has gone. Food is a major contributor to our state of health, and lack of good nutrition a major contributor to illness. I am passionate about wellness, and also have an interest in the 'lack' of nutrition our food now has. I teach people how to read food labels and how to become aware of what I call 'non nutrients' - additions to our food such as hercicides, pesticides, additives such as colours and preservatives, that cumulatively over time may not be so good for us.
