Wakefield Quay House Waterfront Villa, Nelson

Johnny is a part Maori, born and bred in Nelson. He imported Woodi from the UK around 25 years ago. They met in Paros in Greece in 1986 when Johnny was skippering charter yachts and Woodi was a regular summer visitor to the island. Woodi used to get summer jobs as a DJ or cocktail waitress each summer in Paros. They bought the run down Wakefield Quay House in 1990 and have spent many years restoring and updating the 1905 heritage villa. Old wooden weatherboard houses eat maintenance, love and attention. All income from guests helps pay to keep the old villa in great condition. They opened the house as a B&B in 1999 and have a huge amount of fun with their guests from all over the globe. Woodi loves to host guests and friends, she has been involved in the Nelson arts and wine scene over the years and has excellent contacts around town. She can design a guide to Nelson just for you, depending on your interests, to be sure to have a good day out around the region. Peter and Patsy, two rescued tabby cats, also live the life of Riley at Wakefied Quay. Mad as two hatters, generous as two billionaires, kind as two nuns - these two are one of a kind.
