Waimangu Volcanic Valley, Rotorua, New Zealand, is a geothermal destination for all to enjoy. Whatever your age or fitness level, you'll find something that suits you from our choice of easy walks, advanced hikes and boat cruise experiences, ranging in duration from 45 minutes to over 4 hours.

Guided walking tours through spectacular thermal activity in the world's youngest geothermal system. Our courtesy Shuttle Bus runs through the valley regularly and can return you to our Visitor Centre. Relax on a cruise of beautiful Lake Rotomahana and view the activity of its own separate geothermal system, or take a combination of walk and cruise.

We also offer half & full day guided sightseeing tours from Rotorua, transfers included.

If you want outdoor activity, peaceful New Zealand bush, unique ecology, botany and stunning geothermal features during your stay in Rotorua, then Waimangu is the 'must do' experience that you can't go past.

Qualmark accredited, and multiple New Zealand Eco-Tourism Award winner, Waimangu is equally enjoyable all year round. It is easily accessible, just 20 minutes south of Rotorua, and 40 minutes north of Taupo.
