Director David Pringle began building boats at the age of 14, building Sabot racing dinghies He served his apprenticeship with Salthouse Brothers at Greenhithe, internationally known for exceptional boat building standards David built new custom boats for clients for many years, some projects by himself, others with boat building acquaintances He could fix anything, with clients coming to him for all kinds of boat building needs The business slowly grew into David Pringle Boat Builders, his wife Pauline joined the business full time in 2002 The company changed its name to Smuggler Marine Ltd to coincide with the launch of the first new Smuggler Stealth 695 Hard top in 2004 This signalled a change of company direction to include the Smuggler range of boats The range has increased since 2004 to include the Strata range of RIBs from 4 11metres, as well as the iconic Bonito Boats, purchased in mid 2009 The Pringle family enjoy all forms of boating life including sailing, racing yachts, diving, fishing, and water sports Over 30 years boat building experience and this boating background from both directors, gives clients great confidence Smuggler Boats
