The Rug Guru is a specialist rug care company in Auckland, based in St Lukes, focused entirely on the professional cleaning, repair, and restoration of rugs. Every rug is treated as an individual piece, using traditional hand-washing methods combined with modern controlled washing systems to protect fibers, colours, and structure.
We work with Persian, Oriental, Turkish, Moroccan, Kilim, silk, wool, and antique rugs, as well as modern and decorative rugs. Our approach targets deep internal dust, odours, staining, colour instability, and structural wear.
Services include full rug washing, precision cleaning, stain and pet-odour treatment, moth and mould control, colour-run repair, sun-fade correction, and flood-damage recovery. We also provide advanced repair work such as fringe replacement, binding and overlocking, reweaving, re-piling, resizing, edging, stretching, and rug dyeing. Rug underlay, professional hanging, and protective wrapping are available.
