Quayside Antiques, Wanganui

i will never be back to this store after my son was given a price by the the freindly female staff member in store for some items, by the time I arrived (5 min later to pay in cash and pick up the Items), a Man had arrived, possibly the owner/partner/husband and told us ( in front of her) she was an idiot to sell the items for that price and the sale was off and gave us a story that contradicted the other staff member's story about the items, And claimed he could get a lot more for them. Having been in the Antique and 2nd hand business my self for over 20 years, and currenty manager of a retail store, I suggest, if your buying from this shop to wait for the closing down sale, as this is no way to run a business.

Worst Antique shop I have ever delt with. Male owner Refused to continue with previous sale, agreed to between us and lovely female/patner/wife and called her an idiot in front of my family, giving us some lame exuse of how her price was to cheap. I have been in the Antique and 2nd hand business my self for over 20 years and currently manage a retail business. If this is how he treats his employee/partner/wife in front of customers and changes his mid on how much somthing is worth after price agreed on, the business will certenly never come close to how it was when owned by the previous owners. I do not and will not recomrnd this business to anyone.

One of the worst retailer/customer experiences I have encounted. My son was given a price for some items in the Quayside Antiques store, by a lovely lady, deal done, One would think, He texted me to call in and pay in cash and help pick the items up, When I arrived (in 5 mins) her partner/Husband had also arrived and kindly told us the sale was off and that she (his Employee/partner/wife) was an Idiot to be selling the items to us for that price. If this is how he treats his employee/partner/wife by calling her an Idiot in front of customers and refusing to honor the agreed sale , you can imagine how he treats his customers, as we found out. I myself have been in the Antique and 2nd hand buisness for over20 years, and have delt with the previous buissness owners who were great to deal with. Buyer beware entering this store. Disgusted.
