Peel Forest Homestay

Located alongside Peel Forest Park, the largest area of NZ Podocarp forest in Canterbury our 6 hectare property offers a secluded peaceful stay.
In our home we host all kinds of visitors, from backpackers exploring the rugged landscapes to seniors wanting a quiet getaway. Our rooms cater for all budgets, and we like to make all visitors feel that they very much have a home away from home.
Our accommodation inside the house is on the top floor, with wonderful views out to native bush and the prominent peak of Little Mount Peel. Upstairs you’ll find a single and double room, as well as a large balcony that is also furnished with beds for a unique outside sleeping experience if the weather suits!
We also have a seven-berth bunk room with its own separate bathroom across from the house, ideal for backpackers, small groups or clubs.
We once had a working sheep and cattle farm but have now reduced to a lifestyle block with a few sheep, beef cattle and hens, so during your visit you’ll have a chance to experience rural life.
