At New Lynn Kindergarten warm, caring, respectful relationships are at the heart of what we do. ?? Belonging We partner with whanau as we celebrate the diversity of cultures and languages within our community. We support all children to be strong in their language, culture and identity. ?? Teaching team Our qualified, experienced team has been together for several years and this is reflected in the deep relationships with have with whanau. Self belief We believe children are competent and capable. We empower them to be lifelong learners exploring through play, experimentation and risk taking. ?? Child development We provide a broad and rich curriculum (Te Whariki NZ Early childhood curriculum) which supports children’s holistic development and upholds their Mana as they grow in all dimensions physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual. ? Environmental focus We’re a proud Enviroschool and follow the kaupapa of creating a healthy, peaceful, sustainable world through people teaching and learning together. This includes an orchard from which we harvest food used in cooking and to share with whanau.?? Community connections We have connections with the local community including neighbouring schools, library, clay museum and retirement village. We maintain these relationships through visits and outings. Celebrating together We love being part of the New Lynn Kindergarten whanau. Everyone plays an important role in making our kindergarten special. Tamariki are partners in our own kindergarten Treaty and we acknowledge and celebrate our tamariki through our Tuakana awards. And because we love to celebrate, we always end the week with our ‘Fun ‘Friday’ celebration. We welcome you to come and visit us, we’d love to show you all we have to offer.
