Kingsroy, New Plymouth

Sad to see the end of an Era. I grew up in NP. I remember the store near the opera house ?I think. Any repairs or electrical work there was no hesitation, we went to Kingsroy electric. The two things I remember was our Christmas lights that plugged into the light socket. A normal 3 point plug replaced the light fitting and made the Christmas tree decoration so much better. The 2nd item was a radio and record player. It went only on battery power D size batteries that were so expensive to replace. Kingsroy's put in a power chord so we could ditch the cost of batteries or choose battery or power. We had the big old thing in the car so i could listen to the children's stories while we went to church. Thanks for the memories. Moira and Poly-cat
