Hikurangi StayPlace is a modern and well-equipped accommodation built in the spacious, bush clad grounds of a stately one hundred year old historic home built for a former city mayor and businessman.
The property is a mere 17minute walk along the riverbank and over the city bridge to the centre of downtown Wanganui. While enjoying views of the city across the river, you will have passed part of the large riverside Kowhai Park, the Red Lion Tavern and the entry to the Durie Hill Tunnel giving access to the antique elevator rising through the hill to the foot of the lookout tower.
Our rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and your choice of extra-long twin beds or queen size double beds.
You have the use of a kitchen area to prepare your own meals or you can request that we provide your breakfast, either continental or English, at an extra cost.
We provide free wifi, free laundry, a games room and tv. There is even a chapel for quiet relaxation and meditation.
