Healthkids is a well established early childhood centre that is a not for profit community based business that has been open since August 1996 to many families of the Nelson and outer regions. We pride ourselves on providing a quality service that is in strong demand. These standards relate to the centre's premises and facilities, curriculum, staffing and management practices. They are intended to ensure the health, safety and well being of all children and staff while they are at the centre. Under current government policy only centres with approved charters are able to receive Crown revenue, bulk funding from the government. We have a committed early childhood trained staff and a Board of Trustee's, made up by parents of the centre who ensure our Philosophy Statement is upheld at all times. "Ensuring a good foundation for future learning" At Healthkids Preschool children will experience a fun, safe, stimulating and positive environment. Our programme encourages children to learn through reciprocal relationships, creativity, play, communication, exploration and our teaching staff will support them by providing a balance of structured and unstructured learning experiences. We believe in providing a warm, nurturing and safe environment that respects Infants and Toddlers as capable learners. Children are active participants in their own learning through being given time and space to explore and develop their own working theories. we are committed to building strong partnerships with whanau.
