Welcome to The Furlong Hawera – a timeless gem nestled in the heart of South Taranaki. Originally known as the Furlong Motor Inn Hawera, this establishment was conceived by the legendary Brian Hayter, a renowned figure in equestrian circles and an individual with an unwavering passion for delivering excellence in hospitality.

Brian’s vision was to create not just a motel but a destination where world-class entertainment met the warm embrace of South Taranaki’s hospitality. And thus, The Furlong was born, offering 25 charming Chalet Style Units that overlook picturesque gardens, accompanied by ample parking spaces for our cherished guests.

Over time, The Furlong became a popular destination for motorists, particularly truckies from all over the country, seeking respite and relaxation on their journeys. With its strategic location, it served as a haven for those on the road, providing a comfortable and welcoming stopover.

In addition to our truckie friends, The Furlong also began attracting corporate clients from surrounding industries, including giants like Fonterra, Silver Fern Farms, and Balance Agri Nutrients.
