Chiropractic care focuses on relieving and correcting musculoskeletal complaints such as back and neck pain. The most common treatments performed by chiropractors are “chiropractic adjustments.” The purpose of an adjustment is to restore proper joint mobility by applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement. Joint pain, back pain, neck pain and other injuries are often caused by improper lifting, repetitive movement stresses or sitting in awkward positions for extended periods of time. Injured tissue undergoes physical and chemical changes that result in inflammation, pain and diminished function for the sufferer.
