Winchester Counselling is the business name that Andrew Winchester trades under. Winchester specialises in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for *marriage counselling *Christchurch** and other evidenced based practices when working with individuals, couples, and families. In 2018, Winchester became one of only three male counsellors in New Zealand to achieve the status of certification in EFT with the International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. After secondary schooling, Winchester studied accountancy, and then in 2002 graduated with a BA (Hons) SW from the University of Canterbury. In 2013, Winchester completed a master’s degree in education with first class honours, focused on learning and applying the following a number of evidenced-based counselling models, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more.
