Defying Gravity Performing Arts was created with the vision to inspire students into believing in their own potential through Performing Arts. As the academy grows and develops, we will offer a range of Drama and Performing Arts classes, focused on developing the necessary skills to make their dreams come true. Our courses run during the school terms every Monday night at Te Puru Community Centre's function room, located at 954 Whitford-Maraetai Road, Beachlands. Our classes are divided up into age groups. The age groups we start from are: 5-6 year olds 7-9 year olds 10-12 year olds We hope to be able to offer courses to 13-15 & 16-18 year olds in the near future. All of our classes are modeled off the NZ curriculum and learning strands. We do this to ensure that all students learning needs are met and that all that they learn are in accordance with the NZ drama and dance curriculum.
